Daniel Schacter​
CEO

Daniel is a proven operations and sales specialist. He successfully built two companies from the ground up – his most recent having been grown from a valuation of $10M and 12 employees to $500M with over 400 employees upon his departure as COO.

Having been trained in Accounting at Deloitte and Operations Management and Sales Growth at McKinsey & Company, Daniel has built a reputation for building operationally sound businesses using industry best practices. Daniel focuses much of his early efforts on building strong teams with a tight cultural bond, helping his companies accelerate in good times and weather the toughest storms in those more challenging.​

Daniel holds a Bcomm in accounting from McGill University and an MBA from Oxford University in the UK, where he graduated with First Class Distinction and on the Dean’s List.

Matt Taranto​
Partner

Matt began his career in medical aesthetics in 1996, founding the Aesthetic Consulting Group, which become one of the top three resellers of aesthetic laser equipment in the US. Matt launched Aestheticare Medspa in Kansas City in 2001. It has experienced double-digit growth for 20 consecutive years and has become one of the most successful stand-alone medspas in the country with over $10m in annual revenues. ​

In 2014, Matt created Mint Aesthetics, with his wife Kathy, which has worked with over 1,600 clinics across North America. Matt consults with clinics on marketing, personnel, sales techniques, retail product sales, and equipment selection. Matt also speaks at over 20 aesthetic meetings annually and is considered one of the top authorities in the business of non-surgical aesthetics. ​

Kathy Taranto
Partner​

Kathy got her start in the aesthetic industry over 20 years ago, working with a French cosmeceutical company. She then transitioned to aesthetic energy devices, becoming a service provider, then trainer, and eventually opening the first ARRA laser certification course in Arizona. ​

In 2014, Kathy created Mint Aesthetics, with her husband Matt. Kathy is Mint’s Managing Partner, and she has overseen its growth to over 15 employees and its work with over 1,600 clinics across North America. In addition to sales and customer service training, Mint delivers introductory to advanced technical training in all leading medical aesthetic treatments. All Mint’s services are delivered on-site, in-house, and on-line. Kathy is a sought-after speaker at aesthetic meetings and is considered one of the top US authorities on the business of non-surgical medical aesthetics. ​

Dr. Jay Burns​
Partner/Medical Director

Dr. Burns is nationally recognized as a leading plastic surgeon, both in terms of his clinical practice and industry research focusing on medical aesthetics. During his career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Burns has been named a Best Doctor in Dallas in D Magazine numerous times, has been voted by his peers as a Texas Super Doctor 17 years in a row, and has been honored by Oprah Winfrey’s Medical Miracles.

Dr. Burns helped build HintMD to become the quickest growing national loyalty program in history of the aesthetics industry. His advice on running medspa operations, from clinical techniques to equipment selection is sought nationally. He recently applied some of that expertise in launching his own medspa which achieved profitability and acclaim in its first year of operation. ​

Dr. Joel L. Cohen
Partner/Medical Director

Joel L. Cohen, MD (FAAD, FACMS) is an internationally-recognized expert on aesthetics and skin cancer. He is the Director of AboutSkin Dermatology and DermSurgery, and AboutSkin Research in metropolitan Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Cohen has co-authored 3 academic textbooks and published over 294 scientific articles. He has been honored as a Top Dermatologist by US News and World Report, Castle Connelly Top Doctor (2013-2023), and voted by his peers as one of Denver’s Top Doctors in 5280 Magazine TEN times. For over a decade, he has served on the teaching faculty of the University of California Irvine Department of Dermatology and in 2021 was awarded the “Faculty of the Year Award.”

Dr. Cohen is Board-Certified in Dermatology, as well as Fellowship-trained in aesthetic dermatology, lasers and Mohs surgery. He has been quoted in many prestigious media outlets including The New York Times (4x), TIME Magazine, Newsweek, US News and World Report, Vogue, ELLE, Allure, Glamour, Consumer Reports (6x), Readers Digest, Shape (6x), Esquire, Men’s Health etc., and he serves on the NewBeauty Magazine Medical Board. He has frequently been featured on Sirius XM Doctor Radio, and made many TV appearances including the Emmy Award winning show “The Doctors.”

Dan Muroff
CFO

Dan is an accomplished executive with 20 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning and operations. He is a trusted business partner who has a track record of creating value, while working in the best interests of customers and stakeholders.

Dan’s career has spanned a variety of sectors including healthcare and multi-unit retail operations. Most recently, Dan was the Chief Financial Officer at EQ Care, a virtual health and wellness platform, and was part of the team that executed the sale of the company to TELUS Health in 2020.

Dan has a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University and an MBA from McGill University.

Sean Walsh
VP of Partnerships

Sean brings strategy and finance capabilities to CPP, developed through his experience with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and TriWest Capital Partners.

While at BCG, Sean consulted across industries, finding solutions to companies’ most significant strategic challenges. Among Sean’s accomplishments at BCG are the deployment of a new asset class strategy for a major pension fund and investment in two new manufacturing facilities for a major auto manufacturer. At TriWest, Sean participated in all aspects of diligence, structuring, and financing for the company’s investments. Over his career, Sean’s work has supported investment decisions worth billions in value.

As Director of Partnership, Sean is responsible for onboarding new clinics as CPP partners, managing the legal, financial, and operational requirements and processes.

Sean has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Victoria and an MBA from University of Oxford.

Justin Cohen
VP of Marketing

Justin Cohen is a dynamic commercial leader with a flair for scaling businesses in the marketing, retail, and e-commerce domains. Prior to joining CPP, Justin was at the helm of Psycho Bunny’s commercial team, where his efforts transformed the brand into a household name, synonymous with creativity and quality, while growing business 15x over his tenure. His strategic acumen is bolstered by high-profile roles at Sony Music, Google, Keurig Dr. Pepper, and ALDO Group, where he led significant brand development, digital, operational and growth initiatives.

Justin holds multiple degrees, including a BA in Marketing and Advertising, an MBA, and an MSc in Behavioural Science from the London School of Economics—each achieved with distinction. His blend of operational expertise and sales growth strategies, honed at global giants, showcases his ability to build operationally sound businesses with a focus on strong, culturally cohesive teams.

James Stanford
VP and General Counsel

James is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in business and healthcare law spanning over two decades and currently serves as CPP’s Vice President and General Counsel.

In private practice, James led his firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions group where he was directly involved with numerous transactions and rollups on both the buyer-side and seller-side across the US. While his focus was on healthcare, primarily in the areas of medical aesthetics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, dental, surgery centers, EMR, and technology, his M&A experience includes other industries in the private business sector as well.

James has regularly acted as outside general counsel to businesses and medical practices throughout the US providing advice and representation on complex legal matters and transactions, including business structuring, private offerings, employment, intellectual property, regulatory, and international transactions.

During both private practice prior to joining CPP, and in his current role as Vice President and General Counsel, James has been directly involved with all CPP’s legal matters since its formation, including all of its acquisitions, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their expansion.

James has a BSBA in Finance from the University of Denver and a JD from Southern Methodist University, where he served on the SMU Law Review.

James is a proud father and husband and served in the U.S. Army. In his spare time, James enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and the outdoors, and he has a keen interest in science, financial markets, and international affairs.

Kristi Langemo
Director of Training and Development

Kristi Langemo is the Regional Director, Midwest of Cosmetic Physician Partners, LLC. Kristi has deep expertise within Medical Aesthetics, having served as both a manager on the manufacturer side with Allergan Aesthetics and in operations with one of our nations top medical aesthetic clinics, Skin Rejuvenation Clinic.

At Allergan Aesthetics, Kristi served as a Senior Business Development Manager for over four years. She was a top performer, having been awarded the Emerging Leader Award in 2018, selected as the National Botox Brand Ambassador in 2020-2021, and serving on the Botox Cosmetic Advisory Board in 2020-2021.

Before joining Allergan, Kristi had over 12 years of success as Practice Manager of the high-profile Skin Rejuvenation Clinic. She led the clinic to double-digit growth every year for over a decade during her tenure. In her role, she was recognized for her approachable management style and ability to cultivate and capitalize on new and existing revenue potential. Before joining Skin Rejuvenation Clinic, she held marketing roles in plastic surgery and dermatology fields from 1996 to 2003, where her love of the aesthetic industry was born.

Kristi earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication, and when not at work, she is having fun with her 14 year-old daughter Camille and their rambunctious Westie, Watson.

Holly Christopher
Director of Implementation

Holly is a dynamic and dedicated leader who thrives on driving the success of her organization and the individuals within. With over 15 years of experience in the healthcare, wellness, and aesthetics industries, she comes to CPP with experience in sales leadership with a strong operational focus surrounding patient care at the clinic level. Her ability to drive company growth through strategic sales operations while optimizing internal processes, from lead generation to customer retention, is proven and time-tested.

Throughout her career, Holly has consistently delivered outstanding results by maintaining a “people first” mentality. Her niche can be described as fostering team success by focusing on motivating staff while creating a culture that is first class. She believes in servant leadership and empowering those around her to feel valued and accomplished.

She describes herself as a “foodie” and when not working she’s likely not far from the local eateries with her two children and her husband in tow.
